OVERFLOW PARKING FOR CUSTOMERS - Between 5pm and 10pm on Monday to Friday evenings, overflow car parking is available at Queen Elizabeth High School. Access to the Leisure Centre entrance is via the gate passed the astroturf.

Actif Memberships

At Actif we offer more than just a gym membership. Our all inclusive membership provides you with the opportunity to take advantage of over 100 fitness classes a week, 6 gyms, 5 swimming pools and 2 health suites across 6 Actif centres! Monthly Direct Debit memberships includes student, platinum, household, 60+ and corporate bronze packages. Pay As you Go options are also available for activities and sessions.

    • There are ten dedicated accessible bays at the front of the car park and eight parent and child bays, a short distance from the entrance with a dropped curb, pedestrian crossing, and tactile paving.

  • Entrance to the facility is via automatic doors on the ground floor.  The reception desk is 800mm high with Customer Service Assistants offering a concierge role to assist users with limited mobility.  Customers can converse with staff bilingually through the medium of either Welsh or English. 

    All doors are a minimum of 800mm wide and the passenger lift from reception allows access to the fitness suite, dance studio, swimming pool gallery and conference rooms, with raised numbers or letters on the lift buttons for users with a visual impairment.

    There is level access from reception and signage; some which include braille, offering direct access to the sports hall, swimming pool, changing rooms and gymnastic hall via doors that are a minimum of 800mm.

    • Two passenger lifts are available for access to the first floor.

      All areas are fully accessible with level access throughout the ground floor.

      • Café – The café is on the ground floor with high/low tables and chairs.  Chairs are moveable to accommodate wheelchairs, children’s highchairs, or prams.
      • Swimming Pools – A Mobility Hoist (max weight 160kg) that allows access in both main and learner pools and a spa pool, with stepped access into the learner pool.
      • Gym – A range of equipment that is suitable for users with a range of abilities.  
        • Sci Fit hand bike – has a removeable seat to make it accessible for all users.
        • Dual adjustable pulley – is accessible for all users.
        • Treadmills – the arms of the treadmill allow for those with mobility issues to hold on whilst walking.
      • Astro Turf – accessible floodlit all weather pitch.
      • Tennis Courts – accessible floodlit all weather courts.

  • There are dedicated accessible changing cubicles for the swimming pool users which include.

    • Height adjustable, adult size bench.
    • Horizontal grab rails.
    • Shower chair and privacy curtain.
    • Accessible shower with removable hose.

    Other changing areas are fully accessible for wheelchair users.

    Dedicated disabled toilet facilities on both the ground and first floors.

    All accessible toilets and pool changing facilities fitted with emergency call buttons to request assistance.

    Mobile shower chairs are available.

    Mobility Hoist available (max capacity 160kg).

  • There are a variety of swimming pool sessions to choose from which are accessible.

    Lessons available for both adults and juniors.  

    Whilst every effort is made for everyone to be taught within a group lesson, we recognise that this is not always possible and offer one-to-one lessons for those who are unable to participate within a group environment.
