Temporary changes to services at Canolfan Pentre Awel in May

Canolfan Pentre Awel will be hosting a large-scale event, and as a result there will be some disruption to some of our leisure facilities between Tuesday 5 May (morning) – Saturday 9 May (morning).

What's affected?

• Sports Hall - Closed from Tuesday 5 May (morning) until Saturday 9 May (morning)
• Gym, Spin Studio, Dance/Fitness Studios & Changing Rooms - Closed from 4pm, Wednesday 6 May until Saturday 9 May (morning)

Some fitness classes and activities will be temporarily affected or relocated (if possible) during this time.

What's not affected?

The following will continue as normal:

• Swimming sessions plus access to the changing rooms (wetside) and the pool viewing gallery will remain open as normal
• Learn to Swim programme will run as usual
• Hydrotherapy sessions will be available
• Cafe open as normal
• Selected activities across the site

Customer options during this time

We're working to minimise disruption and provide alternatives, including:

Relocating some classes to the other areas within the centre where possible (please check the app for the most up to date timetable)

Exploring water-based fitness classes

A reminder that your membership gives access to all Actif leisure centres, so customers can continue their routine at an alternative location if they wish.

If a booking is affected, we'll contact customers directly as plans are confirmed.

Membership Options

We understand that changes to usual routine may impact how customers use their membership during this time.

If you are considering making changes to your membership, please note the following:

• Any freezes or cancellations for May memberships must be requested by prior to midnight, Sunday 26 April 2026. To freeze / cancel your membership, contact us on actif@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
• Requests recieved after this date will not be processed in time for the May billing cycle.
• Full details on how to manage your membership can be found on our website or by speaking to a member of the team. You can do this at any of our leisure centres or emailing actif@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

Parking and access

There will be increased demand for parking, particularly towards the end of the week. Please allow extra time for your visit.

This short-term closure is managed in line with our membership terms and conditions, which are available to view on our website.
