The brand-new Actif leisure facilities at Canolfan Pentre Awel opened its doors on Wednesday 15th October

It’s part of the Pentre Awel development in Llanelli – a brand-new hub for health, wellbeing, and innovation.  It’s located on the stunning coastline at the heart of the Millennium Coastal Park.

Yes! All Actif all-inclusive members will automatically have access to Canolfan Pentre Awel when it opens.

You won’t need to do anything– your membership will automatically transfer across to Canolfan Pentre Awel from the first day of opening.

If you're already part of our Learn to Swim programme at Llanelli Leisure Centre, we’ll make sure you have a place at Canolfan Pentre Awel, making the transition as smooth as possible.

Customers will be able to visit for a tour around the fantastic new facilities, including changing rooms, sport facilities, toilets and the different routes to take to the various activities.

Yes! Your experience at Canolfan Pentre Awel will be slightly different to the current Llanelli Leisure Centre gym offering. There will be excusive slots for customers to visit the gym with an instructor at Canolfan Pentre Awel to be informed about how to use the new equipment from top fitness brands such as Precor, Intelligent Cycling and the EGYM app. Available times can be found on the Actif app.

A 600sqm gym that is three times bigger than the previous Llanelli Leisure Centre gym including Strength, cardio, and functional fitness kit from Precor, BLK BOX, EGYM, Keiser and Intelligent Cycling.

Facilities for those with a disability includes disabled parking bays, disabled changing room with additional space for a shower and changing bed, lifts to all floors of the building and pool pod to access the pool.

Pentre Awel will feature an exciting programme of dryside and aqua-based fitness classes, building on the popular sessions we already offer. These include HIIT, Circuits, Boxercise, Bootcamp, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Dance Fit, Coach by Colour and Aquafit.

Thanks to the larger space, we’ll be able to offer around 45% more capacity for our customers.

Opening hours will remain unchanged. Canolfan Pentre Awel will be open 6:15am to 10:00pm weekdays and 8:00am to 6:00pm weekends (final gym and swim booking swim will be between 1 – 2 hours before closing time).

Yes – public transport routes will serve Canolfan Pentre Awel, making it accessible by bus and other local services. More details will be shared closer to the opening date.

There are several paths available directly outside the centre and nearby along the Millenium Coastal Path.

Yes! A café is situated in the Antrim area near the main entrance, serving breakfast, lunches, hot and cold drinks and snacks.

A public car park is available at the front of Canolfan Pentre Awel. Car parking will initially be free. It will include disabled bays, bike space and electric charging.
