Actif has helped launch Wales’ first initiative of its kind, a 12-week collaborative programme with CrossFit Llanelli and The Academy Programme.
Accessibility & Inclusivity: Creating Opportunities for Everyone
Aimed at supporting underrepresented young people, especially women and girls, it blends physical activity in the form of CrossFit with life skills and educational development through ASDAN credits.
The programme promotes physical activity, builds confidence, and supports holistic wellbeing, empowering pupils to thrive in and beyond the classroom.
We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be physically active! Girls and children from areas of deprivation are least likely to take part in physical activity and sport …that’s why we have specific programmes targeting these groups.

Fit, Fed & Fun
Actif supports the Fit, Fed and Fun camps delivered by the Scarlets Community Foundation, which provide free rugby and multi-skills camps in areas of deprivation during school holidays.
Actif helps promote the camps to schools, ensuring the right students benefit and also supplies a coach to lead physical activity sessions.
Youth Empowerment
With funding secured from Hywel Dda, Actif Communities launched the Youth Empowerment initiative. An early intervention programme aimed at supporting young people aged 11–14 who are at risk of substance misuse.
This preventative project was delivered in collaboration with key partners such as the NHS, charities, outdoor education centres and Actif facilities. A new project is due to be launched in November 2025.
