About the King's Baton Relay

With the Wales Team squad to be announced on June 19, the day before the baton arrives in Carmarthenshire, this special visit is a great opportunity for communities, schools, clubs and families to come together and celebrate sport, inclusion and community spirit.

Throughout the day, a variety of activities will take place in our leisure centres along the baton route. We will also be working with partner organisations in other locations to deliver activities across the county, helping to ensure that as many people as possible can take part in the celebrations.

You will have the opportunity to show your support, take a photo with the baton, and experience the excitement up close.

The Games will take place from July 23 to August 2 2026 in Glasgow, welcoming 3,000 athletes from up to 74 Nations and territories.

It will include 10 sports - athletics, swimming, cycling, netball, boxing, gymnastics, judo, weightlifting, bowls and 3x3 basketball.
