Saturday 12th April & Sunday 13th April
Amman Valley Leisure Centre
The Amman Valley Sprint Triathlon event takes place in Ammanford on Sunday 13th April, organised by Healthy Life Activities and supported by Actif Sport and Leisure.
This does mean that there will be some changes this weekend at Amman Valley Leisure Centre, outlined below:
*Saturday 12th April*
- Set up for Sunday’s event will begin from lunchtime on Saturday. As a result, there will be reduced parking spaces and barriers positioned (near the road entry)
- The car park is expected to be slightly busier between 14:30 and 16:30 as some of the competitors visit to collect their race packs.
- Leisure centre facilities will be operating as normal and opening times unchanged.
Sunday 13th April
- The Leisure Centre car park will be fully closed between 06:30 - 11:00 (approximately)
- Both Swimming Pools will be closed on Sunday morning and will re-open to the public from 13:00. Sessions: Free Kids Swim (13:00 - both pools), Lane Swimming (14:00 - main pool), Public Swimming (14:30 - learner pool), Lane Swimming (15:00 - main pool)
- Gym and fitness classes will be operating as normal (gym sessions from the 08:00 onwards) but please note that the car park will be unavailable until approximately 11:00. Alternative car parking can be found at Margaret Street town car park during the duration of the event, a 5 minute walk away.
Carmarthen Leisure Centre
We’re hosting the Amman Valley swimming gala on Sunday 13th April, so both pools and the health suite at Carmarthen Leisure Centre will be unavailable for the day.
It’s an exciting opportunity for local swimmers to compete in various swim races and showcase their abilities, and we can’t wait to see the action!
While the pool will be unavailable on 13th April, we encourage you to explore our other swimming pools or activities. The gym, classes and play centre will be operating as normal in Carmarthen on this day.
Llanelli Leisure Centre
In Llanelli, the Leisure Centre will be busy across the weekend, from 7am through to the end of each day. The ICO 4-Nations multi-discipline martial arts tournament be running in the sportshall on Saturday 12th April and Sunday 13th April.
As a result, the car park is expected to be extremely busy and we advise customers to plan ahead, and make alterative arrangements by parking in other council run car parks in the town.
The gym, swimming pools and fitness classes activities that normally run at site will be available as usual. Whilst the event booking will continue later into the evening, normal Leisure Centre opening hours will apply.
