From 1 September, there will be changes to your 60+ Free Swimming programme.
As you know, the free-swimming initiative has been funded by the Welsh Government since it began in 2003. Due to a reduction in the budget allocation from the Welsh Government, we need to adjust the offer, but we still want to support you in swimming as much as possible.
Starting 1 September, you will have access to ALL lane and public swimming sessions for up to 9 sessions per month for free (you are not restricted to only 60+ swim sessions). This means approximately two free swims per week. You won’t be restricted to specific 60+ sessions anymore.
If you want to swim more than 9 times a month, here are some options for you:
- Pay-as-you-go: £5.80 per public swim session.
- Bronze Swimming Monthly Direct Debit: Unlimited swimming for less than £1 a day, at £29.50 per month.
- 60+ Membership Monthly Direct Debit: Unlimited access to the gym, classes, and swimming for £32.40 per month.
- Actif Saver Card: Annual subscription of £18.20 plus £5.22 per swim, with a 10% discount.
- Actif Super Saver Card: Annual subscription of £18.20 plus £3.48 per swim, with a 40% discount during off-peak hours.
Your free swimming membership will automatically be updated to include the 9 free sessions per month, so there’s nothing you need to do.
If you have any questions or want to explore these membership options further, click here, or contact our customer service team by emailing actif@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
Please note: These changes do not include Newcastle Emlyn Swimming Pool, please refer to their timetable for 60+ Free swimming sessions. Newcastle Emlyn Swimming pool is operated by the Swim Emlyn Committee.
