Amman Valley and Llanelli leisure centre staff raise money for local charities
Actif Sport and Leisure staff members from two of the county's leisure centres have completed challenges recently to raise money for several charities.
- Eleven members of staff from Amman Valley Leisure Centre completed the 'Welsh Three Peak Challenge' on Saturday (9th September), starting at Snowdon before moving on to Cadair Idris and lastly in Pen y Fan.
The purpose was to raise money for three charities local to Ammanford that provide incredible assistance for children and adults:
Shadows Depression Support Group, Jac Lewis Foundation and Joseph's Smile
A total of 12 hours walking and 7,600 feet climbed after an early start and in warm conditions!
- Two days later, Eight staff members from Llanelli Leisure Centre took on 'The Big Golf Race Prostate Cancer UK' challenge on Monday (11th September) at Machynys Golf Club.
The day consisted of 2 rounds, 36 holes, 13 miles = Half Marathon to support Prostate Cancer UK a charity that's close to the hearts of some of our staff members.
