WALKING RUGBY

Walking Rugby is a fun team game that is accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Whether you are an established player or you’re new to the game, Walking Rugby is a much simpler version of the traditional rugby game. Less physical than a standard game of rugby, the aim is to participate, compete and most importantly, enjoy yourself.

Walking Rugby is a fantastic way to keep fit and have fun. It is a non-contact game, where the rules of touch rugby are applied but without the running!

Whether you're an ex-player with years of experience or a complete beginner, male or female players over 18 years of age the session promotes social and physical benefits to all.

With thanks to our partners in the WRU and Scarlets, there are now Actif Communities Walking rugby sessions across Carmarthenshire.

Come along to have fun and get active. Sessions are open to anyone aged 18 and over.

WALKING FOOTBALL

Walking Football has become increasingly popular. It's designed to help people get fit or maintain an active lifestyle no matter what their age and fitness, as well as support people getting back into football if they have given it up due to age or injury.

Actif Communities, in partnership with Wales Walking football, have set up a number of Walking Football sessions across Carmarthenshire in order to increase the amount of opportunities for adults to participate in physical activity.

As the name suggests, Walking Football is an adapted version of the traditional sport where players walk instead of running or sprinting. This exciting and inclusive sport encourages people to stay active regardless of their age, fitness level and ability.

Not only are there lots of health benefits, Walking Football can be the perfect opportunity for those looking to make new friends, have fun and try something new.

The sessions are aimed for anyone aged 18 and over, regardless of football experience and ability.

WALKING NETBALL

Walking Netball is a slower version of the game we all love; it is netball, but at a walking pace. Women the length of the country have started playing Walking Netball for the fun, laughter and camaraderie the social session brings, as much as the health benefits on offer.

Walking Netball has been designed so that anyone can play it regardless of age or fitness level. From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to serious injury, to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago, Walking Netball really is for everyone.

Walking Netball is aimed at encouraging participants into the game to stay active and take part in a team sport which is challenging, sociable and rewarding.

Participation in Walking Netball can have many health benefits such as improving mental health and well-being, reduces loneliness and isolation.

Walking Netball as the name suggests is netball without running, some of the rules have been adapted to suit the pace of the game such as having more time for possession of the ball and shorter games.

If you hung your netball trainers up years ago or are a complete beginner, the sessions are suitable for anyone aged 18 and over.

WALKING HOCKEY

Walking Hockey is exactly as the name suggests - you play Hockey, walking. It's designed to help people keep an active lifestyle regardless of age, health and ability, as well as getting those back into hockey who had to stop due to injuries or other reasons.

Walking Hockey allow people to play the sport well into their later life with or without past hockey experiences. Walking Hockey has many social health benefits and allows participants to meet new people, build confidence and keep fit.

Actif Communities is working in partnership with Hockey Walks to establish session around the county.

Sessions are open to anyone aged 18 and over.
