A Gold Card Membership is for individuals who represent Wales within their chosen sport. Membership includes free use of 2 activities at selected Leisure Centres.

Actif Gold Card Membership

What is the Actif Gold Card Membership?

For individuals who represent Wales within their chosen sport.
Includes free use of 2 activities at selected Leisure Centres.
To supplement an athlete’s current training programme.

To be eligible, you must provide proof of Welsh representation from your sport’s recognised National Governing Body.

You will need;

a) a copy of the National Governing Body supporting letter/email

b) proof of address

Eligibility, Criteria & Guidelines

Applicants must currently (within the last 6 months) represent Wales and/or Great Britain as an amateur (unpaid) individual in one of the following-

a) The National team or squad of a sport that is recognised by the National Governing Body* (NGB) of the sport

b) A Welsh Schools or College Association Team that is acknowledged and recognised by the National Governing Body* (NGB) of that Sport

c) As a referee/umpire selected by the National Governing Body* limited to those that require a high level of fitness in order to carry out the role

*The National Governing Body must be recognised by Sport Wales

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

a) reside in Carmarthenshire

b) attend a school in Carmarthenshire providing support is not available from applicant's County of residence

c) is a member of a Sports Club in Carmarthenshire, providing support is not available from applicant’s County of residence

1. *Only sports and the National Governing Body recognised by Sport Wales will be eligible. Please refer to Eligible Sports.

2. Applications must be accompanied by a selection letter or email from the recognised National Governing Body of the sport.

3. The letter/email must clearly state that the athlete is currently / has been selected to represent Wales / Great Britain within the last 6 months and be;

i)On the official National Governing Body letter headed paper and be signed by the relevant NGB Officer. (letters on non NGB headed paper will NOT be accepted) OR

ii)From an official NGB email account and signed by the relevant NGB Officer. (e.g. gmail, hotmail accounts will not be accepted – if one does not exist, the NGB will be contacted to confirm)

4. Access to the facilities requested are subject to being relevant to your training needs therefore there is no guarantee that the 2 activities will be approved. Please see table below for list of activities available at each centre.

5. Access to fitness classes, junior programme and other activities with an instructor present are not eligible through the scheme.

6. The Local Authority reserves the right to consult the National Governing Body in connection with the application in order to seek further clarification, assess the applicant’s progress and current competitive status.

*an induction course will need to be completed if you have not already had one (to be requested at 1st visit)

*if between 11-13yrs of age you will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 18 at all times. The responsible adult (whether an existing or new member) will be required to attend the junior’s induction. (Further information will be provided if the application is approved)

**public times only (not available for use during club bookings, competitions and events – updates will be announced on social media)

***Off peak only (at the discretion of the facility manager and staff), and a maximum of 2 sessions can be booked a week and cannot be used as part of an existing club or league booking
